What is the best ghost hunting hours.
A basic guide to paranormal investigation.
Typically one would think that the dark hours would be the best time to hunt for ghost. Paranormal activity happens at all hours be it dark or daylight. But the majority of reports are in the time between the dark and light hours. When its dark its easier to see ghostly activity and easier to pick up with a camera or video equipment.
Normally it is quieter at night than at day, giving you a bit of an edge on hearing any activity that may occur. Some ghost buster's believe that the best time would be between 9 pm and 6 am. With midnight being the peek. Personally I think about midnight till 3 am or so is the best time.
The time of death for the "ghost" is important. That anniversary seams to signal more activity, as the spirit is strongly connected to his own death. Just remember, ghost are merely people living in a different dimension and have there own schedule, same as you or me.
There are a lot of variables in distinguishing the best time to hunt. Each place is different. It may help if you do some research on the history of the spot your investigating prior to choosing the time of the investigation. Ask questions of others that have reported paranormal activity as to what time it was and the dates.
One must think of solar interference also. Ghosts seem to be able to generate more "powers" after the sun goes down.
Special times would be from dusk to dawn, the Equinoxes and the Solstices.
It has been reported that more haunting's occur on Halloween, the traditional end of the agricultural year. Have you ever hear the term, "opposites attract"? It only makes sense that the opposite of Halloween would be the last day of April. The end of December and the start of January seem to be good time also.
Some thought should be given to astrology and "planetary hours." (Which are rarely 60 minutes long.) You will need to determine the actual hours of night. This depends on when the sun sets. Each night of every year will be a little different. Some figuring will be necessary but isn't to hard once you get the hang of it.
Count the minutes between dusk and dawn, and divide that by 12. In the Craft, this is one hour, and each hour has a specific purpose, ruled by a particular planet. Some planets repeat twice in one night.
There are at least two planetary hours each night that are good for ghost investigations. The hour ruled by Saturn (good for spirituality of all kinds) and the hour ruled by Mercury (communications, including divination). You many want to add the Moon to the hours, since it relates to psychic gifts.

Mercury, Moon, and Saturn hours are generally consecutive and give you three hours for optimum ghost hunting time. I have listed all three below.
If sunset is at 7:12 p.m. and that hour ends at 8:15 p.m., the notation "Sunset + 1" means the planetary hour starting at 8:15 p.m. "Sunset + 2" means the hour after that, and so on.
Keep notes on activity times and see if planetary hours works for you. If it does you could try adding the extra energy of the days: Monday is ruled by the Moon, Wednesday is ruled by Mercury, and Saturday is ruled by Saturn. So, Saturday is an ideal evening to go ghost hunting, starting at sunset. ChronosXP is a free program that will calculate all this for you. Try it out. It's nice. In the properties area there is a tab for sounds. I have it set to wave file and a ghostly sound file I had previously downloaded. Just something a little fun to have.
